And: The first time I met Paul Young was at his hotel, when he was all dressed up, leaving for that night’s gig. (I had actually seen him play live the year before when I was vacationing with my family in London — my sister and I were even interviewed by a news crew outside the venue.)
At the time we met in SF, Paul was doing very well in America — and around the world — with the mondo hit, “Everytime You Go Away.” We didn’t have much of a chance to chat with him, but he was, at least, very accommodating with regard to our autograph/picture requests.
