Meeting Level 42 – 1986

When: October 1986 (or thereabouts)

Where: Kyoto Hotel, San Francisco & a couple venues

And: We met the band at their hotel in Japantown. The band — especially Mark King — were super friendly. (Mark even signed my friend’s bass guitar!) I believe they were playing some dates opening for Steve Winwood, and the band was kind enough to put us on the guest list for the show at the Concord Pavilion.

To be totally honest, we saw them several times, and I’m not sure which pictures were from when. I have ticket stubs and flyers showing dates in September (One Step Beyond in Santa Clara), October (Steve Winwood shows) and then December 1987 when they were with Tina Turner. Hopefully I matched up the photos with the correct year, at least…
