When: May 17, 1987

Where: Warfield Theater, opening for Psychedelic Furs

And: Dramarama are the band you might not know you knew. Maybe you haven’t heard the name, but you know their single “Anything, Anything (I’ll Give You)” — it’s been a staple of all those “Eighties, nineties and today!” radio stations for years now.

In addition to the photo below, I did a little interview with John Easdale, Dramarama’s lead singer/songwriter. One snip from the chat, about having avid fans in Los Angeles: “It’s weird. It makes you feel uncomfortable — you get embarrassed. What would you do if you were in a mall and someone came up to you and said, ‘Wow, I love you! I think you’re great!’ You’d get all pink… blush.” But you’ll get used to it? “N… oh, it’d be real nice, yeah. I think it’s great. But I’d still feel funny.”
